DECEMBER EVENTS

Winter Solstice & Full Moon Celebration Yoga

The word solstice means "sun standing still."  The winter solstice marks the brief pause at the end of the sun’s southward journey and the beginning of its return to the northern hemisphere. This return of the light is usually celebrated through festivals of light or fire.  On this day we experience the least hours of light within a 24-hour period. This year the solstice (at 5:39pm) falls on the day of the full moon (2:14am), the brightest night of our moon's cycle through the night sky. Winnipeg Yoga Shala will be celebrating this auspicious celestial event with a fun, lighthearted all levels Sun Salutations Class to welcome the return of the light. All are welcome to attend.  There will be no charge though food and/or cash donations will be warmly accepted for Winnipeg Harvest.
