MYSORE
Mysore (MY / sore) is the city, in South India, where this method of practicing yoga was developed. Hence the class is called Mysore.
Mysore class is open to all levels, from absolute beginners to more experienced students.
With teacher assistance and supervision, advanced, intermediate, and beginner students practice their sequence of postures at their own pace and within their own capacity. The class is not led, individual instruction and support is the point and emphasis of a Mysore class, the posture sequences are taught to you individually. With regular practice remembering the sequence you have been taught is easy and progress is quickly apparent. As you gain strength, stamina, flexibility and focus, your practice sequence will be extended.
Mysore, as are all forms of yoga practice, is intended to be a daily practice. Attending class a minimum 3 or 4 days each week is recommended.
In the Mysore tradition we rest from posture practice on Saturdays and moondays.
If you are new to Mysore expect the first few classes to take 30 to 40 minutes.
Please note that drop ins to the Mysore program are available only to students with an established Mysore practice.
Begin on any day of the month. New students are encouraged to begin on a Monday.
The Mysore Program Pass includes Sunday Led Primary and all weekday Mysore classes.
There will be no Mysore Program classes on the days of the New and Full moons as listed in the table below.
