PRACTICE GUIDELINES and SHALA ETIQUETTE

-Turn your phone, etc. off. Please and thank-you!

-Practice 2-3 hours after a meal, ideally in the morning before breakfast.

-Practice in bare feet.

-Avoid loose or bulky clothing.

-Arrive with clean body, clothes, mat, towel, and rug (if you use a rug).

-Bring a small towel to class.

-Use your own mat.

-Please leave or make room for others in the practice room as required.

-Please set the front edge of your mat in alignment with existing rows.

-Please put any props away when you’re finished. Neatly fold and stack blankets.

-Take water before and after practice, not during.

-Do not change the order of the asana and vinyasa given to you in Mysore class.

-If you must shorten your practice for any reason always be sure to include the full finishing sequence you have been taught.

-It is recommended that women rest from practice during the heaviest days of their menstrual cycles.

-Before and after class please keep your talking to a minimum in the practice rooms and during class only address the teacher. Please converse quietly in the change rooms and other areas of the shala.

-Be a yogi, be on time!
